This painting is inspired by the birch trees which grow wildly and abundantly in the West of Ireland where I live. Birch trees symbolise purification and in Ancient Ireland were used to ward off evil spirits. I feel a great affinity to them and like to combine them with silver and gold leaf to highlight the magic of nature. Swans are also mystical creatures symbolising wisdom, balance and grace as well as fidelity. This painting is already framed in a white floater frame and ready to hang.
